GREG FITZGERALD JOINS THE JS108 RADIO NETWORK AS A SHOW HOST
ATLANTA, GA. – Greg Fitzgerald, one of Atlanta’s favorite jazz radio personalities, will join the JS108 family of Internet radio stations (JS108Atlanta.com & JS108LosAngeles.com), as a host of a two-hour weekly show.
Greg Fitzgerald is a radio personality with a voice that has indelibly marked the airwaves of many markets nationwide, most recently in Atlanta as the morning personality for WJZZ, until the station-changed format January 2009. His warm baritone tambour and seemingly effortless charismatic personality creates a listening experience of both warmth and believability. “Greg adds a level of professionalism to the broadcast that few if any other Internet broadcast stations have available,” states Andrea M. Moore, General Manager of JS108Atlanta.com.
Greg’s radio career began in the United States Army, broadcasting on the American Forces Korean Network. Greg’s radio career continued after college, in Denver, Colorado, with KAZY as a “Album-orientated Rock” radio personality. Greg’s career and experiences included taking him to such cities as Orlando, Florida; Houston, Texas; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Miami, Florida and Washington, DC. It was at this point that Greg began the transition into the “Jazz” areas of radio, which he has become synonymous with today. Greg’s warm tambour combined with the elements of jazz, quickly made him a sought after radio personality. He continued his growth through working in the Smooth Jazz markets collectively in West Palm Beach, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Denver, Colorado and finally landing the morning show in Atlanta, Georgia in 2001. With the new PPM ratings system in place, Greg’s morning show numbers were the only daypart that reflected being rated in the top ten respectively with female listeners, ages 25 - 54. Additionally, during Greg’s tenure in the Atlanta market, Greg consistently was ranked in the top ten adults 35 – 64. The show continued its success at WJZZ (A Radio One station), until the station-changed format January 2009 to R & B Oldies.
Greg has received several awards, while living and working in the Atlanta area. Those awards include:
2006 Recipient of the Phoenix Award from the Honorable Mayor of Atlanta, Shirley Franklin
2006 & 2007 Recipient of the March of Dimes Lifetime Achievement Air Award
