Montreal, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 — The 38th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal presented by TD in collaboration with Rio Tinto is less than a month away. Let’s get ready to celebrate! For a 38th consecutive year, Montreal is ready to experience a wave of music, entertainment, energy, and the shared love and magic of a city that has become a symbol of cultural effervescence and joie de vivre the world over!

From June 28 to July 8, hundreds of thousands of fans will flood the site of the world’s largest jazz festival to revel in a vast program that boldly bridges jazz, blues, rock, reggae, world music and electronica, with over 500 concerts—2/3 of them free—presented over 11 days and nights on 20 stages, on a site closed off to traffic: an oasis of musical pleasure in the heart of downtown! From small intimate venues to immense open-air concerts, major established artists to rising young prodigies, global rhythms to local talents, the Festival assembles the entire spectrum of musical possibilities under one watchword: joy!

Four major free outdoor events on the TD Stage in an extraordinary edition!

For a one-of-a-kind celebration of the anniversary of Canada, the Place des Festivals is transformed into a gigantic open-air dancefloor. The Discotheque special event spotlights the music of Canadian artists of yesterday and today, ready to get the dancefloor jumping! The program stars Carly Rae JepsenMen Without HatsRadio RadioMuzion, and Buffalo Hat Singers, along with 24 musicians, 5 singers, 35 dancers, wild projections, surprises and a fireworks display with stage direction by Yann Perreau and artistic and musical direction by DJ Champion and Alex McMahon. Get ready for an unforgettable party! July at 9:30 p.m.
